Concerns over the Federal Government's Home Insulation Program reached fever pitch this week.
Criticism over the HIP extended beyond foil insulation this week as the Senate inquiry into the program saw several industry representatives voice complaints over shoddy workmanship, lax importation rules around insulation products, and safety issues caused by a lack of training as the industry sought skills to meet the program's objectives.
A risk assessment report by law firm Minter Ellison may be tabled in Parliament next week.
The Minister for the Environment, Peter Garrett also instigated a technical meeting this week in order to get a better understanding of the program's delivery issues.
Kevin Rudd has stood by Garrett, refusing to cave into demands by the Opposition for Garrett's dismissal.
